Tom Adcock is a Professor of Engineering Science and Fellow at St Peter’s College. He went up to Oxford in 2001 where he did his undergraduate and doctoral studies. He took up his academic role in 2012 after a spell in industry and a postdoc in Oxford. In the Department he has served in a number of administrative roles including serving as Associate Head of Department (Teaching). In college he has been Fellow for Website and IT and Fellow for Access.
Tom is a metocean engineer whose research group look at how waves and tides are understood in engineering design. The main application of his work is in marine renewable energy but he is also interested in coastal flooding and pollutant transport.
