Vacancy

 

Two persons elected on a rotational basis by and from the academic members of the units set out in Constituency I (below). Specifically:

  • One person elected by and from the academic members of the Department of Sociology, to serve with immediate effect until the start of MT 2027
  • One person elected by and from the academic members of the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, to serve with immediate effect until the start of MT 2027

General Information about this constituency

 

This constituency is comprised of two persons elected on a rotational basis by and from academic members of the following units of the division:

(a) the Department for International Development;

(b) the Oxford School of Global and Area studies;

(c) the Department of Sociology;

(d) the Oxford Internet Institute;

(e) the Department of Social Policy and Intervention;

(f) the School of Anthropology;

(g) the Institute of Archaeology and Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art;

(h) the Blavatnik School of Government

Elections to this constituency restrict candidates to persons, as defined in Statute I. This means that all academic members of the named units are eligible to nominate a candidate or to vote, but prospective candidates who want to stand for election must be an academic member of the named unit and the resident holder of a teaching, research, or administrative post in the University or in any college, society, or Permanent Private Hall.

The full term of office is two years (or less, when a by-election is held to fill the residue of the term of office for an elected member who is standing down early).
