16. The Board of the Faculty of Classics shall consist of:
(1), (2) the chairmen of each of the Sub-faculties of Ancient History and Classical Languages and Literature;
(3), (4) the directors of graduate studies in Ancient History and in Classical Languages and Literature;
(5) - (7) three persons elected by and from among the members of the Sub-faculty of Ancient History;
(8) - (10) three persons elected by and from among the members of the Sub-faculty of Classical Languages and Literature.
17. The board may co-opt not more than three additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below.
18. The Board of the Faculty of English Language and Literature shall consist of:
(1) the chair of the English Faculty Board;
(2) the Director of Teaching in the English Faculty;
(3) the Director of Taught Graduate Studies in the English Faculty;
(4) the Director of Undergraduate Admissions in the English Faculty;
(5) the Director of Schools Liaison in the English Faculty;
(6) the Director of Research in the English Faculty;
(7) the Director of Doctoral Studies in the English Faculty;
(8) the Director of Innovation in the English Faculty;
(9) the Director of Equality and Diversity in the English Faculty;
(10) the chair of the English Faculty;
(11)–(17) seven persons elected by and from the members of the Faculty of English Language and Literature.
19. The board may co-opt not more than two additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47.
20. The Board of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics shall consist of:
(1) the Professor of General Linguistics;
(2) the Diebold Professor of Comparative Philology;
(3) the Director of the Phonetics Laboratory;
(4) the Professor of the Romance Languages;
(5) the board's Director of Graduate Studies;
(6) the board's Director of Undergraduate Studies;
(7) - (10) four persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics.
21. The board may co-opt not more than two additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below. Unless the Director of Research is one of the ex officio or elected members of the Board, he or she must be co-opted as a member.
22. The Board of the Faculty of Management shall consist of:
(1) the Peter Moores Dean of the Saïd Business School;
(2) - (6) the Vice-Deans of the Saïd Business School;
(7) - (9) three persons appointed by the Faculty of Management.
23. The Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages shall consist of:
(1) the chair of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages;
(2) the deputy chair of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages;
(3) the director of undergraduate studies in Medieval and Modern Languages;
(4) the director of graduate studies in Medieval and Modern Languages;
(5) the director of research in Medieval and Modern Languages;
(6)–(12) the chair of each of the Sub-faculties of French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Other Slavonic Languages, Portuguese and Modern Greek or their nominee;
(13)–(15) three persons elected by and from among the members of the Sub-faculty of French holding posts on the establishment or under the aegis of the board;
(16)–(19) two persons elected by and from among the members of each of the following sub-faculties holding posts on the establishment or under the aegis of the board;
(a) the Sub-faculty of German;
(b) the Sub-faculty of Spanish;
(20)–(21) one person elected by and from among the members of each of the following sub-faculties holding posts on the establishment or under the aegis of the board;
(a) the Sub-faculty of Italian;
(b) the Sub-faculty of Russian and other Slavonic Languages;
(22) a representative of Celtic Studies;
(23) a person elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics holding a post on the establishment or under the aegis of the board.
24. The board may co-opt not more than four additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below.
25. The period of office of elected members of the board shall be three years, save that no elected member shall serve for more than two successive periods of three years each.
26. The arrangements for elections shall be laid down by standing order of the board.
27. The Board of the Faculty of History shall consist of:
(1) the Regius Professor of History;
(2) the board's director of graduate studies;
(3) the board's undergraduate studies co-ordinator;
(4) the chairman of the Faculty of History;
(5)-(15) eleven persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of History holding posts on the establishment or under the aegis of the board.
28. The board may co-opt not more than six additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below.
29. The Board of the Faculty of Music shall consist of:
(1) the Heather Professor of Music;
(2) the Choragus;
(3) the Reader in Music;
(4) the director of graduate studies in Music;
(5) the director of undergraduate studies in Music;
(6) the director of research in Music;
(7) the Chair of the Faculty;
(8)-(16) all members of the Faculty of Music who are the holders of University posts as defined in section 7(1) of Statute VII;
(17), (18) two persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Music.
30. The board may co-opt not more than four additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below.
31. The Board of the Faculty of Philosophy shall consist of:
(1) the chair of the Board of the Faculty of Philosophy;
(2) the vice-chair of the Board of the Faculty of Philosophy;
(3) the director of graduate studies in Philosophy;
(4) the director of undergraduate studies in Philosophy;
(5) the director of research in Philosophy;
(6) the vice-chair of the Board of the Faculty of Philosophy for research centres;
(7) the equality and diversity officer in Philosophy;
(8)–(10) three persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Philosophy.
32. The Board of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern shall consist of:
(1) the chair of the Asian and Middle Eastern Faculty Board;
(2) the vice-chair of the Asian and Middle Eastern Faculty Board;
(3) the board's Director of Research;
(4) the board's Director of Graduate Studies;
(5) the board's Director of Undergraduate Studies;
(6) the board’s Director of Graduate Admissions;
(7) the board’s Director of Undergraduate Admissions;
(8) the member of the Planning and Resources Committee co-opted on to that Committee;
(9)-(13) five persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
33. The board may co-opt not more than three additional members in accordance with regulations 44-47 below.
34. The Board of the Faculty of Theology and Religion shall consist of:
(1) the chair of the Theology and Religion Faculty Board;
(2) the deputy chair of the Theology and Religion Faculty Board;
(3) the Board’s Director of Graduate Studies;
(4) the Board’s Director of Undergraduate Studies;
(5) the chair of the Board’s Planning and Resources Committee;
(6) the Board’s Research Director;
(7)–(11) five persons elected by and from the members of the Faculty of Theology and Religion.
35. The board may co-opt not more than two additional members in accordance with regulations 44–47 below.
36.(1) The Registrar shall give, in the University Gazette, at least forty-nine days' notice of the day of election, and shall at the same time give notice of the number of official members, if any, and the number of ordinary members to be elected, and of the latest days on which nominations of candidates must be delivered at the University Offices.
(2) The forty-nine day period referred to in paragraph (1) above must fall within a single Full Term.
(3) An election to fill a casual vacancy shall be subject to the regulations of this Part.
