Heatley-Merck, Sharpe and Dohme Studentship

Made by the General Purposes Committee of Council on 10 July 2008

1. The benefaction from Merck Company Foundation which comprises £503,301.95, together with any further donations for this purpose, shall be known as the Heatley-Merck, Sharpe and Dohme Studentship.

2. The University shall retain all of the fund as a permanent endowment and shall apply the net income of the fund towards the studentship which will be held in the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology.

3. The administration of the fund and the application of its income shall be the responsibility of a Board of Management comprising:

(1) the Head of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology;

(2), (3) two persons from amongst the holders of academic posts in that department appointed by the Medical Sciences Board following consultation with the Head of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology.

4. Regulation 3 above may be amended by Council.
