Part 29: Committee on Statutes before the Privy Council

31.1. The Committee on Statutes before the Privy Council (which shall consist of not more than five members appointed by Council) shall report whether statutes made by colleges under the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act, 1923, directly affect the University within the meaning of section 46 of the Schedule to the Act, or constitute alterations of statutes which affect the University within the meaning of section 7 (2) of the Act.
31.2. The committee shall also draw attention to the implications, if any, which alterations to college statutes may have for the University and colleges as a whole.
31.3 If in the exercise of its powers under regulations 31.1 and 31.2 above, the committee is of the opinion that a matter requires the attention of Council, it shall refer it in the first instance to the General Purposes Committee of Council.
