Extract from regulations of the Declaration of Trust sealed by the University on 3 June 1875 (University Gazette, vol. v, p. 633) as amended by the Ruskin Trustees with the approval of Convocation in 1977 (ibid., vol. cvii, p. 906).
1. There shall always be a Master of Drawing, who shall teach in the Ruskin Drawing School, or in a place assigned for that purpose with the consent of the Ruskin Trustees by or by the direction of the Chancellor, Masters and Scholars of the University of Oxford, in the University Galleries, or in some other building within and belonging to the University.
2. For the purposes of this deed there shall be certain trustees, who shall be called the Ruskin Trustees. The trustees shall for the future be the Vice-Chancellor of the University, the Keeper of the Department of Western Art in the Ashmolean Museum, the Ruskin Master of Drawing, and the Chairman of the Committee for the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art.
