1. The University accepts with gratitude the bequest of the late T.D.N. Besterman, which shall form a fund to be called the Voltaire Foundation Fund.
2. The said fund shall be applied to the completion or continuation of the publications and research within the field of Enlightenment and eighteenth- century studies begun by the late T.D.N. Besterman, and, as and when progress on these allows, the undertaking of other publications and research projects of a similar nature, the financing of scholarships, lecturerships, and research within the same field and the improvement of research collections and facilities in the Taylor Institution with these aims in view.
3. The fund shall be administered by a board of management appointed by the Humanities Division Board. The board of management shall be responsible for applying the income and, in its discretion, the capital of the fund.
