[1] Physiology and Human Anatomy
1. The income derived from the trust fund shall be applied to the establishment of the Theodore Williams Scholarships in Physiology and Human Anatomy to encourage and promote the study of Physiology and Human Anatomy in relation to Medicine.
2. The scholarships shall be awarded annually and be tenable for up to three years.
3. The scholarships shall be open to any member of the University who at the time of award shall not have exceeded fifteen terms from matriculation.
4. The Medical Sciences Board shall be the board of management and shall have power to make regulations, not inconsistent with these regulations, concerning the award of the scholarships.
5. The scholarship shall be awarded by the Head of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics, in consultation with that Department’s Committee for Graduate Studies.
6. The scholar shall employ himself or herself for at least one year in research on a subject approved by the Head of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and (unless the board of management on the recommendation of the Head of Department shall in a particular case allow otherwise) shall begin such research in the term following his or her election.
7. Each scholar shall receive on election up to four payments, one at the start of each year of study, being drawn from the net annual income of the fund and any accumulated balance after payment of all expenses incidental to the trust.
8. The Head of Department or Chair of the Graduate Studies Committee shall notify the board of management of each award and of the research to be carried out by the scholar.
9. If, owing to any circumstance, the whole of the income of the fund in any year is not applied as directed in regulation 6 above, the residue may be carried forward for use in subsequent years.
10. Regulations 2–9 may be amended by Council.
