Congregation motions June 2024

Statute XI

The changes to Statute XI follow years of consultation involving all stakeholders across the collegiate University, and reflect Education Committee’s principled decision in Trinity term 2022 that the University should be prepared to investigate cases of serious sexual misconduct as a breach of University rules without usually expecting a complaint to be made to the police first.

In addition there are three sets of regulations and the disciplinary procedure which can be confusing and difficult to navigate. Under the changes, students will only need to look at a single comprehensive procedure (with different versions for academic and non-academic matters).

Redundancy panel

Following an independent review of St Cross, and a proposed restructure, the first four stages of the Redundancy Procedure have been undertaken.

Find out more in the Gazette – the item has been adjourned to the meeting of Congregation to be held on 25 June.

Graduate application fee

A Congregation resolution proposes that the graduate application fee continues, further to a Congregation motion from March 2020 to abolish it.
