John G. Winant Lecturer in American Foreign Policy

1. The University accepts with gratitude an anonymous benefaction for the purpose of establishing a John G. Winant Lectureship in American Foreign Policy.

2. The John G. Winant Lecturer shall lecture and give instruction in American Foreign Policy. The lecturer shall be elected, and shall hold the appointment, on such conditions as the Department of Politics and International Relations shall from time to time determine.

3. Any part of the income of the endowment of the lectureship which is not required to meet the costs thereof may be expended, under conditions to be determined from time to time by the Department of Politics and International Relations, on the promotion of teaching and research in American Foreign Policy.

4. Council shall have power to alter this decree from time to time, provided that the main object of the benefaction, as defined in clause 1 above, is always kept in view.
