The balance of the sums generously contributed between 1964 and 1979 by Shell International Petroleum Company Limited, Mitsubishi Bank, Mitsubishi Trading Company, Mitsubishi Petrochemical Company, Mitsui Bank, and other companies for the establishment of a Lectorship in Japanese Studies and the development and furtherance of the aims of the lectorship, and any further sums which may be contributed for these purposes, shall be applied under the direction of the Board of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for lectorial purposes in Japanese Studies.
