Part of Council Regulations 24 of 2002: Regulations for Academic and Other Posts
1. There shall be a lecturership which shall be called the Spalding Lecturership in Eastern Orthodox Studies.
2. The lecturer shall be appointed by a Board of Electors consisting of:
(1) the Vice-Chancellor;
(2) one person appointed by Council;
(3) one person appointed by the General Board;
(4) one person appointed by the Board of the Faculty of Theology;
(5) one person appointed by the Board of the Faculty of Modern History;
(6) one person appointed by the Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages;
(7) one person appointed by the Board of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
3. Under the direction of the Board of the Faculty of Theology the lecturer shall lecture and give instruction in Orthodox Christianity as related to the culture and society of the Orthodox peoples.
