Services Subcommittee

The Services Subcommittee (SSC) is a subcommittee of the Planning and Resources Allocation Committee (PRAC). It was formed as part of the governance reforms approved in July 2022 as part of the Finance White Paper.

The SSC considers both the ongoing and strategic longer term investment in services. It provides and facilitates liaison between UAS service heads and those in receipt of centre services to ensure consistent and effective delivery of those services (including service reviews).

SSC makes proposals on service charging to the Budget Planning Subcommittee (BPSC)  for multiyear planning settlements that were one of the reforms set out in the Finance white paper and within the constraints of this proposes the annual budget for the services to PRAC, and then monitors performance against budget. It also makes recommendations to PRAC on the charging out of costs to colleges via the Integrated Charging Mechanisms.
