Infrastructure Charge

Overview

The Infrastructure Charge is the mechanism by which academic departments fund the central services.  There are two separate charges, the Service Charge and the Space Charge and they are used to apportion the UAS Settlement, recommended to Planning and Resource Allocation Committee (PRAC) by the Budget Planning Subcommittee.  The Settlement is divided across a number of drivers which are used to allocate the costs to the divisions. The drivers are used as rough proxies for activity across the divisions, and hence potential demand for the use of central services.

PACS (Planning and Council Secretariat) maintains and operates the model in line with the recommendations of the Services Subcommittee and Estate Investment Subgroup as agreed by PRAC.
